Parent Involvement

Parent Involvement

At Trinity Lutheran School, we place a high value on relationships. Building connections with, and among, our school families is vital to the success of our school. We encourage you to get involved in the school community, build relationships with other parents and experience the joy that comes with being an active member of the Trinity Family!

Family Volunteer Hours

Trinity School families (with students in Kindergarten through 8th grade) are asked to volunteer at least 3 hours during each school year. Families may choose to do more if they are able. Please download the Trinity Volunteer Handbook, to view the complete list of volunteer opportunities. We appreciate your willingness to join us to help instill in our students compassion, citizenship, composure, creativity, clear thinking, curiosity, effective communication, and collaboration.   With your help, we can further enhance our school’s mission by “Sharing Christ and Meeting Needs” in our school and community.

Parent Teacher League (PTL)

The purpose of the Trinity Lutheran School Parent Teacher League (PTL) is to raise funds for various school needs; to provide fellowship opportunities; and to offer support to teachers, students and parents. Trinity’s PTL provides an opportunity for parents to have a direct impact on bettering the school environment and lowering the cost of school fees through fundraising. Meetings are usually held on the first Monday of the month at 5:30pm in the Parish Hall. Please check the Tiger Talk newsletter or join the PTL Facebook group for updates.

Circle of Moms

The Circle of Moms group meets on the second Friday of each month from 8:30am - 10:00am. Mothers, grandmothers, and women of any age are invited to join us for a morning of fun and fellowship. For more information, please contact Karen Hemenway at

Art Outreach

Trinity Lutheran School and Preschool participate in the Art Outreach program sponsored by the Springfield Art Association. Art Outreach is a system of more than 70 teaching portfolios that explore an artist or grouping of artists; a movement in art history (i.e., Impressionism), or theme. The Art Association provides portfolios containing prints and artifacts, as well as lesson outlines and instructions for a related hands-on activity. If you are interested in leading an Art Outreach lesson in one of our classrooms, please contact the School Office at

Trinity offers a variety of sports through its Athletic Program. If you have an interest or experience in one of the sports we offer and would like to coach or assist one of our athletic teams, please contact the Athletic Director, Lynn Friday at

Trinity Lutheran Church

In addition to financial support, Trinity Lutheran Church also supports the school, and its families, with opportunities to get connected, to grow spiritually and to reach out to our community. We encourage you to explore the resources that the church offers and see how you and your family can get involved.
