What are the operating hours for Trinity Lutheran Preschool?

Trinity Preschool is open from 7:00 am - 5:30 pm Monday-Friday. Our Preschool program operates year-round.

Does Trinity Preschool close for holidays?

Yes, our Preschool closes for major holidays. We are also closed the second week of August in  order to prepare for and transition to the new school year.

How old does my child need to be to attend Trinity Preschool?

Children must be at least three years old and toilet trained to attend Trinity Preschool.

Does a family need to be a member of Trinity Lutheran Church to attend Trinity Preschool?

No. Trinity Preschool enrolls children of many faiths. However, Trinity Preschool is a mission of Trinity Lutheran Church and, therefore, follows the doctrines and beliefs of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. Trinity Preschool follows the One in Christ preschool curriculum. Preschool families are invited to join us for weekend Worship services.   

Is Trinity Preschool an accredited early childhood program?

Yes. Trinity Lutheran School and Preschool are both accredited through the National Lutheran Schools Accreditation.

Is Trinity Preschool licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Families Services?

Trinity Preschool is a licensed-exempt program through DCFS. However, our Preschool follows the guidelines set by DCFS to ensure the safety and well-being of the children we serve. 

Are all staff members trained in CPR and first aid?

Yes, all of Trinity Preschool's staff members are trained in CPR and first aid.

How does Trinity Preschool deal with food allergies?

Trinity Preschool is a peanut-free center. We do not allow peanuts, peanut butter, or peanut products. Children may bring birthday or holiday treats provided there is an ingredient label intact. Parents of children with allergies may bring food to replace menu items. Trinity requires that a doctor's note remain on file for all allergies.

How does Trinity Preschool handle discipline?

We believe in setting boundaries, redirection, encouragement, one-on-one problem-solving, and teaching skills that promote compassion, empathy, and composure. Our teachers do not berate, embarrass, punish, or withdraw food in order to discipline children.

Does my child need to be toilet trained?

Yes, all children enrolled in Trinity Preschool must be bathroom proficient.

Does Trinity Preschool have a uniform or dress code?

No, Trinity Preschool does not have a uniform or dress code. However children should wear comfortable clothes that they can "work" themselves (buttons, zippers, etc). For safety reasons, we do not allow flip flops or open-toed sandals.
