Retirement services

The Rev. Martin H. Rothe will be
honored at the 11
a.m. services Sun-
day at Trinity Lu-
theran Church,
followed by a din-
ner at the Prime
Rib Rack.
Rev. Rothe has
served as part-
time assistant pas-
tor of Trinity congregation calling
upon the shut-ins since October 1973.
He is a graduate of Concordia Semi-
nary, having completed his studies in
1932. He was ordained and installed
as pastor of St. John's Lutheran
Church, Bible Grove, on April 30,
1933.
He served various parishes at
Eberle, Staunton, Livingston, War-
burg, Charleston and Mount Pulaski,
until his retirement from active min-
istry in September 1973, at which
time he moved to Springfield.
